Advisory from TOMP Waterworks
Mount Pleasant Waterworks Project Update: MPW is currently working on a water quality project that involves removal and replacement of water distribution system valves along HWY 41 near Dunes West. MPW is also cleaning the large water main through a scouring process called “pigging”. Pigging is essentially where we clean the inside of water lines with a large foam sponge. You may experience discolored water in short intermittent periods over the next two months while this project takes place. The water is only discolored from the sediment being stirred up in the process and is safe to drink. If you experience discolored water MPW asks residents to wait a few hours; then run an outside faucet or cold water in your bath tub until the water clears. Thanks for your patience during this critical water quality project.
