Harpers Ferry Way Entrance Construction
The project to add a second entry lane and refurbish the Harpers Ferry Way guardhouse is set to begin on September 13, 2021. The additional lane will start at Braided Lane and continue forward to the guardhouse. This project will help us improve access to the resident lane by creating additional stacking space in the visitor lane and eliminate the congestion that often occurs at SC41.
The inbound lane from Hwy 41 to the guardhouse will need to be shut down beginning September 13th for the duration of construction. All traffic will be diverted to the main gate on Wando Plantation Way. We expect construction to continue for 45 days. We are planning to leave the outbound lane (HFW) operational, however it may need to be shut down occasionally depending on the safety considerations and construction related needs.
We ask that you begin to prepare for the construction by notifying your guests and vendors of this temporary change. Please also consider giving yourself some extra time to account for any traffic delays. The Dunes West POA and the Board of Directors will keep you informed of our progress with periodic email updates.
